BTC Principal, Josh Summers, PE, SE, recently spoke at the Sealant, Waterproofing & Restoration Institute (SWRInstitute) 2013 Winter Technical Meeting in Scottsdale, AZ; March 3rd through 6th. At the meeting, Mr. Summers presented BTC's SWRInstitute Trinity Award winning project: Restoration of the 1717 Rhode Island Avenue Building in Washington, DC.
For his presentation, Mr. Summers discussed why the planning stage of this complex exterior wall restoration and roof repair project was paramount to overcome challenges that included logistical issues, coordination of tenants and neighbors, and schedule constraints. He further discussed how BTC addressed unforeseen conditions that affected the scope of the project and the interior tenant environment.
