Continuing their long-time commitment to advancing other professionals in the building envelope industry, Building Technology Consultants, Inc. (BTC) Principals, Kami Farahmandpour, PE, FRCI, FNAFE, REWC, RRC, RWC, CCS and Joshua J. Summers, SE, PE will be two of the four presenters of an RCI, Inc. Educational Program entitled Exterior Walls Technology & Science. This two-day course provides attendees basic exterior wall technology and terminology that can be used as the fundamental base for future RCI exterior wall course offerings.
Exterior Walls Technology and Science covers a broad range of topics, including types and function of exterior walls, psychometrics and moisture movement, design objectives and building code requirements, wall penetrations, materials, coatings and water repellants, and sealants. The course is aimed at those preparing to expand their knowledge into exterior walls and at those already practicing in this area that want to further develop their knowledge in exterior wall technology. Exterior Walls Technology and Science further serves as an excellent review course for individuals interested in taking RCI’s Registered Exterior Wall Consultant (REWC) exam. Kami Farahmandpour was one of the original developers of this course.
